Well I will admit I am very very new to all this, and yes I to follow you. I started out asking for half dollar pieces at the banks, 8 or 9 of them in total, no that's wrong did have several friends check banks almost 100 miles from me in other cities, ... have not yet seen the first of any silver; not saying they are not out there for sure. BUT did come up with 6 USMINT Wrapped halves ( of no great value, 3 years, 2 mints each) and several rolls of uncirculated .... . Did find what I now know as "I am a big idiot for tossing those", out of my ignorance .... so I am beginning to have my doubts at several things I have seen on the tube.

I do have a friend who owns a coin operated business and probably receives 3 or 4 hundred dollars in quarters daily, these he and his wife do a quick scan f for silver, but that's it. Just yesterday we were talking and he said it has been 3 months since any have been found and was just as scarce before that. Strange enough, my daughter went to a vending machine and received a 64 quarter in change; so go figure. I would say I probably exchanged at least 1000$ in halves ... note the words exchanged, for I am trying to operated a bourbon taste on a beer budget. Did glean those 6 rolls I mentioned plus an additional 3 rolls of really clean halves. so the end of this little story. I guess you just have to be reallllly lucky to all that silver so often.
