Just got this out of a storage unit along with a bunch of other coins, From what I have been told is that the storage has been there over 20 years
If the coin is genuine, it will command a small premium over melt value, but the surfaces of that coin lead me to believe that it may be a cast counterfeit. The photos are blurry and make my eyes hurt.
I have the same concerns. It looks like there are a lot of small pores/pits on the surface. This is a strong indication of a cast fake.
Looks very worn for the incuse design. Pit holes/marks, maybe it was tested with a chemical to see if it was real gold. It does have a casting look about it.
