I’ve never heard that expression either. But I can really come up with a few ideas that I’m sure are incorrect. Lol

it’s really that big a deal to you that I didn’t spell error correctly when I was speaking into my phone. Thank you for pointing it out. That’ll make my day go so much smoother tomorrow. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.

if you could show me how that could possibly be done with a piece of tape. I sure would like to see it

I’ve seen enough rudeness in this room now I’m not here to make a lifetime commitment out of looking at coins. I just happen to have about 100 of them I wanted to sell and I had a few questions. But when somebody suggest a piece of tape or that somebody put a coin in advice without looking at it thoroughly, I’m done with the stupidity these coins I’m posting now I’m sure it’s all post mint damage until you would actually explain how you would do that. I’ve got better things to do than stare at coins. If I can’t make money on them, I’m a little busier than that

I say that when coins become boring then it's time for a NEW hobby. Try building model cars or planes? thumb.gif

It wasn't a big deal. I really didn't know what you meant by air coin. I'm 80 years old and don't relate well to some of the technology used today and assumed that you wrote it intentionally. I do hope today is smoother for all of us.

Little bit touchy are we? I didn't see anyone being rude. You asked for opinions, people gave them. Why is everyone "offended" by other people's opinions. If you disagree, offer a reasonable rebuttal or just ignore it and move on.

The coin in question is odd and not having it in hand makes it difficult for even the experts here to say definitively what the issue is. Therefore, there's likely to be some speculation, educated guesses, and probable suggestions.

And I gather from your post that the only reason you are here is that you're hoping to make a profit from these coins? Maybe I read that wrong, but if that's the case you'd be better served to visit a dealer or some other coin buyer that can assess them in person.

Just my opinion - don't worry opinions can't hurt you

Just put a piece of tape on a coin and let it sit in the sun, like a windows sill. After several months remove the tape. The side that the sun was shining on will be duller than the side that was covered by the tape. It’s a form of toning.
