It is the easiest because it should be and often is a higher mint state technical grade than the lower mint state coins. The AU-58 grade only means very slight wear, nothing else and are almost always better coins than the lower mint state grades.</p><p>If your coin is a nice AU-58 it is probably better than most all the MS-60, 61, or 62&#039;s out there. </p><p>Now that does not translate to better money as the lower mint state coins should be worth more in any given market.</p><p>Also it is not worth it to try and get it graded as mint state - the downside is an AU-58 coin is easy to tell, as was said before all you have to do is look for the slightest rub so it would probably never get the higher grade you desire. I myself would not consider any 20th century coin graded AU-58 through MS-64 a monster but maybe you meant the money went up so much - trust me the grading jokes, I&#039;m sorry I meant companies have seen a bunch of this variety in AU-58 - it should only take a experienced person about 2 seconds to tell an AU-58 coin. If you all are perplexed that an AU-58 should be easy to grade please bone up on it - all you got to do is look for rub on a otherwise very nice piece.
