My dad looked through this a little but I am going to look again. I am going to look for some silver and gold. Anything else I should look for?
Anything thats just old like I would say from the 50's and under good luck and if you have a coin in question post it in this thread.
Might I suggest Numista, @AidenAlexander. It should help you identify many often overlooked world coins. Edit: To that end, if you see any Canadian coins from the 30s or earlier, you may wish to consult Coins and Canada.
Cool! Good luck, you might find something neat. Where did this come from? It appears fairly recent, as I see at least one Euro-denominated coin in the mix.
My aunt goes on trips around the world and one day gave me a truck load of foregin coins, here's some nice older ones from the stash.
Looks fun! You may get lucky and find some silver. Gold is highly doubtful though. I wonder how many different countries are represented in that box.
Good luck with your hunt! As @Bradley Trotter said, Numista will be your best friend while hunting world coins. It says the metal composition, mintage, and much more. I would also recommend making an account on there to trade your coins that you don't want for others that you do want. I put a lot of my extra foreign coins on there and I swap them for coins that I need to fill my albums, etc. Looks like a lot of fun, good luck! Hope you find some silver or something
Sorry for the angle. and you may not be able to see the dates well but these are some coins that I keep finding.
Thank goodness your account isn't attached to your real name. Lol. I would talk more crap about my family if this profile wasn't a single google search away. Canadian cents are awesome. I save all of them I come across. They don't make them anymore so why not.
