Only 140,000 minted. The coin was designed by James B. Longacre. It contains .900 gold and .100 copper. The net weight is .04837 Oz. of pure gold. It has a Reeded edge. Five mints produced the Liberty Head One Dollar Gold Coin.</p><p><br /></p><p>In 1854 the name was changed to the Indian Princess Head. The coin was made thinner but 2 mm large and it contained the same specifications as the type one coin. The type two had a smaller head with a headdress while the reverse had a fully enclosed wreath. </p><p><br /></p><p>This is the only type one one Dollar hold coin that I own.
