A friend of mine recently suffered a residential burglary and about 300 pieces from his "Daniel Carr" collection were stolen. This occurred in Northern Colorado. There is a suspect, but he has not been seen since the time of the theft. If I can get a list of the stolen items, I will post it here. Please be on the lookout for suspicious activity involving the sale of a large collection of Daniel Carr, Moonlight Mint, and/or modern Clark Gruber items.
Sorry to hear about your friends loss. I hope that he gets his collection back in one piece, and that they catch the bugger that perpetrated the crime.
Watch eBay for "RARE GENUINE 1964-D Peace Dollar" listed for $3,000,000. Should be easy to spot. But I do hope they find the thief and the victims property is returned to him.
Ugh. Hopefully they find their way into a law abiding pawn shop, and are returned to the rightful owner.
While I don't care for some of the pieces made by DC, there is nothing worse than a thief. I hope they catch him and hang him by his Rocky Mountain Oysters. Chris
Hopefully the thief is an idiot and gets himself caught very soon and all the pieces returned to your friend.
Good Lord, that conjuers up some weird images in my mind.......and I'll never eat oysters again......
I hope the thief tries to sell them as original coins instead of Carr overstrikes so the Feds can go after him, too. <Dougmeister ducks and waits for the crap to start flying> (I *like* DCarr overstrikes)
Please post as much information on them as possible, this forum is worldwide, so many people can keep an eye out for them, did anyone know of his collection ? They would be prime suspect, any distinguishing features on any of these pieces, and so on. Hope for their safe return. John.
All he has to do is carry the stuff across state lines, and the Feds can get after him. 18 US Code § 2314....
