    Unfortunately, my original post pretty much exhausted my knowledge of the roll tarnish ("toning") issue. I had one 15-year-old roll, in a bank wrapper, and when I opened it I found heavy edge tarnish on all the coins, with blast white centers, except on the two end surfaces, which were also heavily tarnished.

    Apparently the ones you inspected were spared that fate. If the ones you looked at were examples of all the different papers used for rolls, there's not much more to do; but if you have rolls in entirely different wrappers it might be helpful to look at a few of them also. :)
