You know you give them the benefit of the doubt and you just hope that they don't confirm your suspicions about the flippancy of the current human race. This cuts me, deep.
I am trying to compile how many modern off metal cents there are. (Copper instead of zinc). "He noted that there (are) copper planchets known for a few 1983 cents (of which I had reported upon here in Numismatic News for both Denver and Philadelphia in the past. My book "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change" was responsible for the discovery of the 1983-D and several of the 1983 cents). There are also reports of three known certified 1989-D cents and one 1990-D struck on 3.1 gram copper-alloy planchets." Sorry about the plug, copy and pasting. So while exact numbers are hard to find, 2 1982-D small date copper 3 1983 1 1983-D 3 1989-D 1 1990-D I am not saying these numbers are factual or exact, but that's what I have so far, 10 off metal copper planchet cents. And in future posts I will use the term "around 10 off metal" or "approx. 10 off metal modern copper cents".
Me again, hijacking the thread. Using the (10) number, and compared to the mintage from 1982 thru 1990, I am only going to add 1 billion out of the 17 billion minted in 1982, as that number is reasonably close to how many Denver small dates were produced, there is a total mintage of: approx 86 billion zinc cents from 1982-1990 with 10 on copper planchets.
