this is what i found lots of 2022's D i did get one 40% silver here are the photo's so this one i think would be a strike through just below the E and the split in kenadys hair there an oval impression this an up close photo's this on is form my phone A BIT blurry as the coin is tilted to show the ST. This is from my scop this is another ST. /or grease filled die on a 1776-1976 bicentennial and the 40%
I don't think the strikethroughs (if that's what they are) are significant or noticeable enough to be worth any premium. Congrats on the silver! My birthyear.
When you think you have a struck through grease coin go to maddieclash.com and find the overlay for your coin. Most of the time you will find that it is not a grease filled die. The weak design on one side was caused by the flow of the available metal on the planchet filling the deepest part of the device on the opposite side.
@lordmarcovan 2022-d is noticeable in your hand no need for a loop or scop.. you're saying that 1776-1976 st or grease-filled die would not have a premium on it now I'm not saying gonna get rich from it. but it's still worth more than face value. These two will be going into 2x2s and into my collection
I'm not an error/variety guy, so you can take anything I say on such subjects with the proverbial grain of salt. If you say it's a good find, I believe you. Certainly a keeper worth more than face value, anyway, if that sort of thing floats your boat. I'm into old coins, not pocket change. But I'm not being dismissive when I say that. I know lots of people have lots of fun hunting through circulating coinage, and find some pretty cool stuff, too, so more power to 'em. I've even been known to search a nickel roll myself, now and then, or a half dollar roll, if I can get 'em, which is seldom. How'd you get $2K in halves? Had to order 'em, I assume? I'd have thought your silver haul would've been a little better in that quantity. Maybe I'm spoiled, because I got lucky back in May.
