I'm new to this site but thought I would let the people know that I went an checked on my order this am (Calif time) an I had a tracking number, and my order number is 38368. So, I thought I would let those of you that are still waiting for your tracking number were they are at as far as order numbers. Good Luck to those that are still waiting. As for me, I'm a collector and have been since the mid 50s and this set is going in my collection, I'm not in it for the money, I'm in it to hand down to my daughter.

Yes they were, finding buffalo nickels, mercury dimes, walking liberties, standing liberty quarters in your change every day. Not any more. Those days are long gone.

Thanks Green18, My nick name is Nunz, I live in California and I am 64 years old. My Dad started collecting coins when he was a kid back in the 30s and he got me into collecting coins in the mid 50s. I'm not in it to make money like some of these flippers, but the way things are today I can't blame people for trying to get ahead as things are hard. I'm an ex Marine, I did 5 years for Uncle Sam between 64, an 69 I was in Viet Nam for 17 an 1/2 months I was hit twice and blown up two different times. I'm retired now and its getting harder to collect coins as Uncle Sam doesn't pay us alot, but I love collecting coins. My dad left me his collection, and I am going to leave my daughter everything that I've collected over the years.

 

First of all welcome aboard. Secondly, I totally agree and feel the same as you. I'm not in it for the money and my collection will be my personal inhertitance to my two children. Unfortunately my order# is 38398xxx, so I have lost any hope of this set being passed along to them. And now its price has it in the same catagory as the 1995W, more than I am willing to pay for an American Eagle collector piece.

Don't lose hope saltysam! My order is 38394xxx and I'm still hanging in there! If I do get this set, its going to my grandson! At 11 he's already an avid collector.

 

Thanks kydedhed, I found this place about the time the 25th ASE went on sell and I've been reading it everyday following what was going on who got what, if they were sending it in to get graded, if they were going to open it or keep it closed, So on, an so on, Its like a soap.........

 

You can also get some very good advice from experts who have been dealing with coins for decades!

 

Strange. Just got an email my order #38375xxx just shipped today (11/16) after getting an email yesterday that the new ship date was 11/28 -- from 11/14 at time of order. The U.S. Mint works in mysterious ways.... They are masters of the concept of under-promising, over-delivering.

Not sure what I'll do with the three sets (other than keep one), but I have no desire to participate in the grading frenzy.
