I added this on bullion thread today. if the burnished San Fran has a "S" mintmark it a buy.
The 2006 3 pieces silver set was priced at $100 and limit was 10 sets per household. it took about 3-4 months to sell out. right now my quess is the price would be about $299.95.

In 2006 I wanted to buy 10 sets, but bought only 5. Now I think I'll get 5 of these sets and sit on them. The reverse Proofs will be as beautiful as the '06 ones. And the "S" minted ASE will also be a key coin in the series.

    Hi ! Ken,

Your mention of the Mint issuing an "S" ASE has me really confused. Were the "S" less ones really stamped out from S.F. or not ???

Dave, so good to see you dear fellow. Those S "s" less coins were obtained from "Monster Boxes" labled San Francisco. That's how the TPG'ers determined them to having been struck at that facility.
My feeling? Do you want an "S" "s" less, or do you want the real deal? Something that's got a mint mark. I'm thinkin' "S"..........:)

They were sent to PCGS & NGC in sealed Monster boxes.

Wish I'd had the Monongahela's to purchase 5 sets back then.......:)

Ken & Mc , Thanks for the feed back. I am aware how the Monster boxes come into play, but even though it would be un-ethical, why couldn't I just pick up a commercial ASE and say it was from S.F. ?

    Ya think Dave? :)

If I had to depend on that I'd always be somewhat suspicious. Although, we know the TPG'ers are above reproach. No axe to grind in that neck o' the woods. LOL

For my satisfaction I want to see something emblazoned on da back, just under da Eagle.....:)

Thanks. I hope the mint gets this release right. I think it's a relatively small issue.
