I don't think of die breaks as errors. It's part of the minting process. Dies get worn out, break and crack....not an error.

If brakes on your car go out due to wear, is that an error?

Bob my only reply to you is, according to your philosophy this photo is nothing special. And that's why all the people in the world are not the same and have different likes and dislikes. And I'm sure you put many of these back into circulation? And as far as car breaks that would be considered operators error By not properly maintaining his automobile. Totally different. Hey Chris. We ought to throw you a party over 23,000+ quotes and five years, all I've gotten out of your post since I joined coin talk, you have lost the ability to have fun with collecting. And that has been quite obvious, in over five years if you haven't figured it out by now, people are different and like different things. And collect for different reasons. So it's not nice to put someone down because they like collecting something you feel is useless and a waste of your time, and I will bring up an old quote of yours as you firmly believe and probably others, you consider this junk collecting. I personally look at it as I've just added a nice crack to my collection. I like die cracks as many other collectors do. If we can just have fun in collecting and sharing what we find. And not worry about the monetary value of every coin that is shown we can go back to having fun collecting.:happy::blackalien:

There you go again, misinterpreting my intentions. You can collect whatever you want. I don't care! I just don't want people to get the idea that it has value above the face amount.

Long before you ever joined these forums, we've had countless new people come here with their "grandpa's collection" thinking it was worth a lot of money. Otherwise, why would he have saved it? Some of these people refuse to accept the fact that grandpa's collection wasn't worth anything over face value.

You continue to feed people all that "blue-collar collector" crap and the "monetary collector vs. hobby collector" crap. It's just a bunch of BS! Now you know why the Surgeon General required all of the tobacco companies to put warnings on the cigarette packs. Some people just don't get it!

Hey Chris take a breath take another breath. Now do you feel better. You know as well as I do whatever coins you have is only worth what someone's willing to pay you for them. And if we are in a depressed economy and you have a slab coins that's worth 200 bucks you'll be lucky to get face value for it and eventually lose money because you paid to have it slab. And since I've been on this form I'd check out a lot of threads, and so far in six months I have not read anything about any grandpas collections, only members and new members Wanting to know what the error they are showing is. And I've also heard a lot of members tell you guys monetary value is not an issue. A very small percentage want to know if it's worth anything. At least on the error forms site, because you want to let them know now going back to your quote it's junk and not worth saving. And Chris if you don't like the coin move on if you don't have anything nice to say. And where did you come off saying I'm saying anything about the value of an error coin. Or giving the impression that there error is worth more than face value? I do not recall on any of my threads or any of my quotes mentioning a monetary value on any coin because I don't really care about what the coin is worth. Only about what the error is. And as far as your last little tantrum up there. People are different. People collect different things. and for different reasons. People's likes are different. Does that make it a little easier for you to understand Chris,. thF081HFV0.jpg

Still preaching the same things Chris. But in terms I hope you can understand, Why is it so hard for you to believe people are different? You say you live in South Florida? If so you live in a society with 5 million people, and believe me there's so many different people here in South Florida. I know what it is Shady Pines don't let you out of the home that often. Or you live in a bubble. Chris if you believe people were different you wouldn't make idiotic statements like this---- You continue to feed people all that "blue-collar collector" crap and the "monetary collector vs. hobby collector" crap. It's just a bunch of BS!.-- And I will put it in words you can understand hopefully. All of those things you are saying that are in your words not mine BS. People are different and do things for different reasons, add-1.jpg Chris stop trying to saddle a dead horse it's not going to go anywhere.:blackalien:

Once you get back on your meds, I think you should take a course in Reading Comprehension. Obviously, a memory course will not do you any good.

    silentnviolent accumulator--selling--make an offer I can't refuse

    *sigh*

I think I'm looking at a very minor MAD as opposed to a cud of any kind, or a die crack.... Unless I'm missing something.

    Edit:
I was indeed missing the new photos. Definitely a die crack. Retained cud? I don't think I'd call it that simply because if so it is by very little. The separation isn't what I'd expect to see if searching for that error to buy, and if i were trying to sell it i know that even authenticated, that lack of definition, of flair sought by error collectors would heavily weigh down the sale price.

"I'd rather have a huge crack than a tiny cud!" TM

And yes it is a very small crack that goes all the way, from rim to rim.You can't always choose what you find in change. But it's nice when you find some like this.:blackalien: rcu83p25c-3.jpg

thanks for the clarification. sorry but my skin is as thick as any one's. you should consider that not everyone has had time in the long five years you've spent on this site writing enough words, even if they are "brief vis a vis rude; while i ignored "ire" in my last reply, i am not ignoring it here. i've never been mollycoddled by anyone, altho my wife might disagree. do not bother replying. i read a post i interpreted as rude or bordering on something like it. i interpret what i read in context: without knowledge of your addiction to writing here and reading many posts so i understand the subtext, i could not read the post as 'brevity' rather than rudeness. that's my opinion regarding what i read before; i read this post the same way. your opinion of what you wrote possibly makes sense if the reader knows what you later wrote. if not, the reader could possibly read it as i did, and that's my opinion & "I'm sure that not all of them will agree with [mine or] yours." but talk about thin skin? puhlease...
stop stalking me. that's what this feels like. none of this feels appropriate to a response that merely asked about the effect of your message to another on that person's--or any readers'--"feelings."

Stalking you? You're the one who made his first post in this thread about my comment, "That is all!"

If my later comments make you feel like I'm stalking you, then maybe you should just keep your thoughts to yourself or grow a thicker skin or both. Do you really think I'm going to ignore someone who has made a childish comment and then whined about the response he received?
