I am also accustomed to searching TPG cert #s before I bid on coins/notes in auctions. It's a good practive to incorporate in your coin/note research. This way you will know when, where and how much items have previously sold for and IF anyone has juiced the image or misrepresented the item in their image.

 

I have to say I was very surprised that he figured it out so quickly. I did not know that you could search the registry by certification #. Had I known that, I would have changed the photo. The coin is not in any of my competitive sets; it is in a signature set. I figured if anyone was smart enough to search my signature sets, they deserved to win.

I was a little disappointed that he got it so quickly as I had a whole slew of hints to drop and really thought it would be a challenging contest.

Anyway, round 2 of the contest will start at 9PM tonight and we be all about Jefferson Nickels. I will even be adding another prize to the prize pool. So get ready Jefferson guys, it is only an hour away.

 

Sorry that I killed the joy, but if it wasn't me who won, it would have been someone else quick to the draw! So am I excluded from the next round of the competition? :smile

 

You are not excluded from participating, only from winning another prize. You can still submit your entry for bragging rights if you want. And don't feel bad, your performance was great and absolutely to deserve to win and the congratulations that accompany winning.:thumb:
