They reopened sales and I just bought two more sets. Someone cancelled a 20K order according to Conworld.com. And as of 2:19PM Eastern time they are still available.
Considering that the sets had been officially unavailable on the Mint website for three hours at the time they went on sale at the ANA, I'm kind of surprised it took five hours to sell out there.
I forgot about this set on the first day of the sale. I was upset at myself over it! My wife could tell I really wanted the set and she told me to just buy some on eBay since my birthday was coming up (Aug 3rd) but I don't like to over pay for some items. If it would've been silver I think I would've paid the flippers for it. I thanked my wife for the suggestion and I'm glad I didn't go for it. I got my sets Friday morning at 2:00 am. I hadn't checked my email till then. They could have got away from me again. I wonder how long they will last this second go round?
Do you hear that???? Is it the sound of falling prices on eBay??? Or is that the sound of flippers jumping off the window ledge? Somehow I can't tell the difference.
lowest BIN price is $40 even now with shipping. not much margins there. Luckily I was able to cancel my order as I ordered 2 directly from the mint (for nearly the price of one from eBay). Maybe the Mint should sell items like this in batches ...
I was too first time reading that. But after seeing the pictures members have posted I can see why sales struggled when people got to see the actual product first
I bet you HSN and Silvertowne don't return any of them to the Mint. So don't complain if the Mint favors the big buyers for new products. We create our own situations sometimes.
2:30 CST mint website let me load 100 into my cart. Seems like plenty still available. Was just a test - didn't buy 100 sets. Already had my two from opening day.
Do any of y'all think a lot of these will grade SP70 or mostly SP69? I've seen some sets of all ten coins sell for $300 - $400.
I've seen Plain Jane sets straight from the Mint go for upwards of $60. Things change, and the markets go with them. Be careful.
One seller on eBay is selling an entire shipped box of 30 for $38.33 each / $1150. prices are pushing to lower $40s and some still just under $40.
Most likely will depend on which coin in the series you look at. Some will likely have better rates of 70s than others. I would expect the first wave of the TPG population reports to probably pop up early next week once Denver is over.
Since the TV coin shows have probably pre-sold a bunch of 69 and 70 graded sets, they will, um, have to grade that high. The sets are still available on the mint website. Those poor flippers...
