At these price points the demand will likely be there. I don't see insane prices happening on these and if it does it won't last long and could easily see these selling around issue price in the next year.
CoinVault has PCGS SP 70 ANA label First Day Issue sets for $479.98. All coins are individually slabbed
hi again - as there seems to be a lot of opinions on mintages - i'd like to pose this query - what about commemoratives? seems the normal, upfront mintages are usually between 500 and 750k - but while perusing the new guide book on modern commems - i noticed the ACTUAL mintages, were many times, much lower - but one would never know that until AFTER the fact and by that time, it's either to late to have made an initial purchase or you're stuck with a very high mintage item.... just curious as to other's opinions? thanks!
There have been many people that have reported getting their reminder notices AFTER the items have gone on sale. I'm still curious about what it was like at the ANA when the sets went on sale. They went on sale there three HOURS after they sold out on the website.
Their preference. Those labels generally do have a better background, but everyone will have different reasons.
I got a reminder but by the time I hit the link, the sets were sold out. I really only wanted 1 set for my collection. I had to pay $48.50 from one of the flippers on ebay. I wasn't going to, but I really want to add this to my proof collections.
I wonder how long they will last... they've been on sale for longer this morning than they were on Tuesday
Some big boy must have cancelled a large amount of their order, or a verbal comment from a big boy never came through? You know the commercial dealers get special consideration on the Mint issues.
possibly... or... some small-time player over-ordered, his CC got declined, and the sets went back into the sale queue Wouldn't it be poetic justice for this to happen to an eBay seller who pre-sold a couple of hundred sets?
The last report I saw said the mint sold out of their supply at the show in about 5 hours. With orders shipping already, account reconciliation should also be mostly done. It looked like there may have only been a few 1,000 unique orders, so this process should have been reasonably quick. The sales system is pretty good at estimating total orders, but with larger orders, it could have glitched out and called a premature sell-out when too many people tried to order 10,000 when only 9,900 were available. Incomplete, canceled, or otherwise unfulfillable orders, are also a likely reason. Who knows.
