I wouldn't be surprised to see availability of 50,000 sets (or more) on the latest reports

That wasn't the only cancellation as was pointed out. My logic is that the demand just isn't worth their investment to try and snatch up as many as possible. If a cancellation like that had happened with say the baseball gold coin that would have been snatched up immediately. The fact that remaining mintage has sat like it has indicates weak aftermarket demand.

I agree, and I'm certainly not trying to argue.

The declined cc probably happened much later in the day, after the sellout was announced.

The Mint may have even put them immediately back up for sale, and had the Mint not limited sales on this "B-stock", they likely would have sold out in minutes.

The problem is that once the people who actually wanted the coins started reacting to them, that is when sales started to decline and possibly more returns and cancellations started to happen.

It's still way under mintage they may have more, but seeing which one you're getting first on eBay may just be easier and cheaper especially with the bucks offer this weekend

This is how the US Mint screw many people especially the subscriber who has been with them for many years. Back in the days, there are many low mintage coins and sets for sale and again people will or not get them will get pissed off, but that is the way of the process. Now them low mintage are like over 100K and on. Mostly ugly design and recycle design on coins to sell us. The US Mint is loosing so much of the regular customers these day and soon will be me as well. I wish they hire someone who has talent to design coin that is more attractable to most everyone. I for one like the older design on coins like the Barber or older.

The 4 medal set coming out will have a 2 per household limit. The limited edition silver set will be sold out to dealers immediately like the congratulations set. Therefore, only dealers will have the 2017-S American Eagle. Why limit a worthless medal set and let the real coins go unchecked? The mint is really screwed up and only favoring big money. I began collecting in 1948 and quit collecting in 2017.

The limited edition silver set is a redundancy, but a chance for silver eagle collectors (who fell asleep at the original offering) to redeem themselves. Luckily, I've a friend who redeemed, me so I don't need this over priced set.......

Be a lot cooler if they added all the coins in it, nickel/cent/sac dollar.

This limited set with the Silver Pr eagle. Now the mintage is Not 25K but 75K. Yes still lower than the others, but is it worth the trouble and the cost ?? I am not sure I am going to get it.

Per the USMINT website, The Silver 4 medal set is listed for $199, mint limit of 50,000, 2 per household. I might grab a set or two.

I always get certain sets like the Limited Edition sets and just like the Congratulations set (that paid off). So we'll see what happens this year ...
