is there any WIDE A M closed am variety known? this one shows a nice even separation in AMERICA and the other coin show closer almost touching AM
Die wear and die polishing can have an effect in the apparent difference in spacing between letters. To my knowledge there are no close AM-wide AM dime varieties.
I have considered this before posting it.. I have looked at the separation in all letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA they are very consistent in spacing? as to the other 5 i have looked at you can 100% see the die differences and spacing this is why this one really threw me off.. we have the Penny wide AM... 25c with A,B & C types in states, and some dimes with REVERSE design types (torch) could it be?
