Saw a post one day that said they were having some delay problem . Think it may be becouse of the display boxes or something like that or having some problems getting the coin together from the different mints. I am old and my memory is not so good. eyes sight, back, hair and teeth are not to good either. well anyhow Think this is just normal stuff for the mint from what i have seen from the mint and from the post of others. hope to see some movement next week on mine. order date 11/02 thanks moen looks just saw your post looks like they are into their 3rd week in oct. or close to it. when my first set hit that status took about a week to get them going usps which is suppose to be the slowest way
They seem to be in "stall" mode right now, possibly to address the thousands of complaints about loose coins and open capsules that have been flooding in. I was notified that my SF had been shipped 11/27...and it's now 12/10.USPS says they were told to expect it on 11/28 but the Mint hasn't delivered it to them yet so we'll see.
My additional sets still say Backordered. My additional sets still say Backordered expect to ship 12/8/06. Although I just listed my 1st set on Ebay tonight.
Well my order stats from the mint has been the same as ya'll but my Bro-in-law called be about a hour ago and said that our sets came in today---so maybe the mint just didn't update it. He said that the case around the REV Proof was off---but that he put it back---I can't wait to get them later on tonight!!! Speedy
Updated to 'expected to ship 12/22/2006.' If I eventually get the sets from the Mint, I can sell one of them to make the money back from buying one off eBay for a Christmas gift.
I still haven't quite figured out why the coins slabbed as a set should be worth more than the coins slabbed individually at the same grade. In fact, I would think the combined value of the individual coins should be worth slightly more than the single set at the same grade. This isn't a dog show, where the pedigree is worth more than the mutt. All of the coins of the same date/type are identical except for the random grouping of them during the packaging process. But there are a lot of things I never quite figure out. I guess it's just an amazing display of the power of marketing.
my ship date say 12/31/06. i dont care when I get it I just want to be sure that its not cancalled because it wasnt shipped out by the the end of the year. will the mint cancel orders if not shipped out by the end of 06?
If that is the case then my 2006-w will be canceled as it now showing 1/1/07. I ordered them a few days before they became unavailable. Do not think the would have posted next years date if they could not go that far. Someone had a post about that in here but can not remember what they said. Also they were selling 2005 mint sets this year so i would think they could sell them or distribute them for a while yet as long as they are already stamped/stomped or manufactured. already have 3 sets and would like to give one for a x mas present. As long as I know they have shipped my lasts sets, then i would feel ok about giving one away. my last order of these were showing and expected ship date of 12/22 but that changed I believe on 12/15 and i am now in the reserved thingie. Think maybe they will ship monday, 12/18 but this is only a guess. the order date for these coins was 11/02 mid afternoon. Monday may be a ruff day for the mint to process any orders and would think it may be tuesday before you see any movement but i am a rookie and this and really do not know a lot. Am learning the hard way. lol. I hope this helps I am curious do the mint folks process orders on the weekend.
HOORAY They're on the WAY!! I ordered my sets on 9?29/06 and suddenly I checked on Thursday the 14th and they changed to SHIPPED with a tracking No. So don't give up hope!! I was about to give up on receiving anything!! To say the MINT is unpredictable is an understatment, very inconsistent lately and it will only get worse, what with all the products they're making now!! Don't know about the Canadian and Aussie mints but they have mucho different products too!!
Only for the Legacy sets, The Mint stated they're not allowed to ship after Dec. 31, due to the law. It didn't apply to the Eagles though.
Hey ND86 You always have such detailed information about the mint and shipping status. I am curious as to how you are able to inform us all with this (VERY WELCOME) information? Do you work for the fullfillment center or something like that? A wondering collector, Jake
O.K. Let me see if I have this right. all commems for the year they have been minted have to be sent by 12/31 of the year they were minted. But the silver eagle sets which are to commerate the 20th year of the Silver eagle is not really cosidered a commemorative. They have recently changed my medication and maybe that is making me miss something here. Any clarification would be appreciated.
Maybe next year they will let us order any new items in January so we can get them by December! They should list on their home page that orders might require a minimum 3 month waiting period.
I don't know about anyone else, but the items I ordered in August stated in the listing that they wouldn't be available to ship until December, before I ordered them, including SF Mint gold, the Legacy sets, and ASE 20th Anniversary sets. The Mint was up front about it. It was part of the reason I ordered them, knowing my c.c. wouldn't be charged till now, and some came before the date listed.
AE 20th Annv. 3-Coin Set A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT THE AE 20TH ANNIVERSARY 3-COIN SILVER SETS SOLD BY THE U. S. MINT..... After a very long wait my set was finally delivered in mid-November. The shipping carton was NOT damaged but when I opened the set two of the three coin holders were cracked along the outside edges and the presentation box was in two pieces --- the top was separated from the bottom portion where they coins were housed. I called the mint right away and spoke with a supervisor who told me, and I quote: "We are aware that some sets were damaged BEFORE shipment." She then told me to return only the two damaged coins and the case for exchange. She told me what to write on the exchange portion of the original invoice, which I did. I sent the damaged merchandise back to the USM on November 20. On December 16, the mint returned the damaged coins and case to me with a form letter telling me that nothing could be done because I did not return the entire set. Unblievable. I have been a customer of the USM for quite a few years and have never before had such shabby service from them. I will not incur yet another shipping charge to return the entire set to them. I would recommend that everyone be very careful when buying these sets, especially from private sellers over the Internet. EXAMINE YOUR ORDER VERY CAREFULLY. Dave McStowe
cypherman. You seem to be having the same problem that I and some others i know have had with the mint. You are very lucky if you speak with someone who really knows what they are talking about. I have purchased a few items from the mint and it has been an ordeal. Their return policy states that in a set if you are dissatisfied with one coin, the entire set must be returned. It is understandable that the customer would be unaware of their returns policy but you would like to think that someone who makes a living giving advice and assisting customers would be aware of something so basic. It would be funny if it were not so sad
