2022-P Dime Error? I’ve searched to see if anyone else has posted about this but can’t find. I’m new so please be nice. I know these aren’t great photos as I just took a pic of the screen on my microscope. I have an entire roll just like this I got from my bank the other day. So before I get excited wanted to ask people I trust. Thanks❣️
When a coin shows a "doubling effect" on all sides of a device, it is from a deteriorating die. If it was true doubling it wouldn´t be an error, it would be a variety.
We are always nice to newbies! I agree with Die Deterioration doubling. Nothing related to a true Doubled Die. Good question and great pictures. Welcome to CoinTalk
It’s on one side and most in “In God We Trust” and date. I thought this was double die. It’s the entire roll. Lord I’m dummer than I thought!
Your images clearly show it on both sides of the devices. Also its appearance is flat and shelflike, the opposite to a true doubled die.
Please don't say that. You asked a question and we educate you on the subject. And.. the correct Numismatic terminology is actually Doubled Die not double die. Big difference.
