This is out of a box of 2021 cents from the bank. It sure looks like a lamination peel to me, but not sure.
Neat. Some sort of Planchet Anomoly.. An anomoly is what I describe something between an error and damage. Many will argue that Lamination issues do not occur on Copper plated zinc cents but I have an attributed example.
A rim burr is generally a small 'slice' of metal from the rim of the coin, that gets folded over the planchet before it's struck.
It might be. But I thought the rims are disturbed on these. Here, contrast with these 1998-Ds (two different coins). See the overlay on the compromised rims?
Good point, and I'd say usually, but not always, the rim damage shows. Aside from the 'color change' on the Kennedy, the Cent and Half dollar look very similar.
Struck through unretained rim burr in my opinion. Too much light and not close enough but the circled area below might have the story to tell.
