Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to coin collecting and I have a very small, but growing collection. I ordered a couple of the 2021 uncirculated type II silver eagles and I noticed a funny mark on both of them in the same location. Any idea what this is? Each picture is a different coin. There is a little ring around the shortest sun ray on both coins. Thanks!

Looks like some kind of oval scratch-damaged,the mint isn't perfect. But if you have other similar examples it could be a type of strike through as my second thought?.

Reading this, I got my Uncirculated ASE's out to look and don't see that.

It looked like a hair at first but it is the same on both coins. Strike through possibly. Tell ya what, I'll trade for what they sent me?

where did you order these "2021 uncirculated type II silver eagles" and are we talking about the West Point one the mint sells direct as individuals, or the bullion ones from a bullion dealer?

Looks like a pen mark to me.

I ordered them directly from the mint. They are West Point.

The mark is the same on both coins, so I wouldn’t think it is pen?
