The premiums have been insane this year. I would rather buy classic coins than pay those mint premiums on precious metals. I know that the resale value is beneficial to resellers right now due to "fear of missing out," but market correction on a lot of these products will happen eventually as it usually does.
this will be my first attempt to get a reverse proof coin, so will see if I am able to beat the bots!
What a fiasco! I've never had so much trouble placing my order at the US Mint. It was much worse than when I bought my Morgan and Peace Dollars. But, after 15 minutes of getting booted out and logging back in, I finally made it through to get one. I was getting errors that I've never seen before, so they must have done something to make it even worse! Shame on you US Mint.
Unbelievable! I just logged on to the US Mint website about 5 after 1et, and they're still available. I thought for sure that all 125,000 would be accounted for by now.
They're only still available because people just cant get through to complete the purchase. Theyll be there for however long it takes to get through otherwise they would have sold out in minutes otherwise as there was definitely far more people trying than the mintage limit
Unbelievably, I got a set at 1:03 PM after continually logging in since noon. Never thought I would be able get one. VERY happy....my diligence was rewarded.
I also bought my Morgan and Peace Dollars after I was logged in only a short time. I can't understand why they simply can't get their act together. One would think that they would hire an excellent IT manager...or maybe they JUST DON'T CARE :>(
It’s to bad there wasn’t a way to have it be committed once it’s in the cart for at least a reasonable amount of time for a person to check out.
Same here I sat in the Lowes parking lot for one hour, It is pouring down rain thx to this tropical storm but I got one
Their IT is fine, the site just gets overwhelmed occasionally because it doesnt make sense for them to build a site to handle that kind of traffic when the site works perfectly fine 99 percent of the time. There were 100s of thousands of people trying for these, you can count the number of times that happens a year on your fingers. Even this year most products it doesnt happen to and this is a year where with the design changes to the ASE and AGE its happening more than ever. Theres also the fact the site was very likely being attacked by hackers like has happened before on a release hence it took about an hour for the site to actually start working as they fixed that
Perception is completely off and is not backed by facts. Hacker idea (Is Stupid) They're using cloudflare, so they can block non US IP. Websites can be scaled to meet the demand. The issue is the 10 different IT contracting companies working together to manage the website. While the mint just passed the nonsense on to the customer via higher prices and poor user experience.
I was able to get a set. I believe this will be last order with the mint, I really have no interest in there stuff anymore.
