Just received an email from the US Mint containing notification of the upcoming release of the 2021 American Eagle Silver Reverse Proof Two-Coin Set to go on sale August 24th at 12PM ET for $175. I'm planning on getting one, are you?
You're all welcome to purchase the ones I won't be buying. The mint has gotten ridiculous with their offerings and absurd with their pricing. I do wish those who want them good luck in getting them.
Sorry, I find reverse Proofs to be ugly. The idea behind the Proof coin concept was to test or “prove” that a die was good. The reverse Proof is nothing but a gimmick. The surfaces on those coins have nothing to do coin production except to make something to market to collectors.
I like reverse proofs although starting to be overdone. This is a good set for this year though. I'll be going for one and hope to get a set. They won't last 10 minutes.
I like the RPs a lot more than normal proofs. It does take away from the uniqueness a little doing a lot of them but like you said this year makes perfect sense for it. Really I would like to see every product get a RP at least from time to time
Thats unfortunate, but maybe not the worst idea as its been a heavy month with the gold, ASEs, Morgans/Peace
How are people who are at work supposed to drop what they are doing at noon on a workday and go to the mint website to order these things? I'm glad I don't collect this stuff as I will still be seeing my 11:40 patient at noon.
Probably moved to September because of all the 'hate mail' they've been getting lately regarding the ordering process on their site........
I will try for one; with 125,000 and HHL of 1 isn't bad. This year is getting expensive with all of the new ASE and Morgans.
I wish the 2021 ASE used the 2021-W $25 1 oz Palladium eagle design instead of the clipped eagle wing design.
I agree I’m not a fan of the cutoff wing . Though I will say I like them better in hand than I thought I would . Meaning the regular w and s proofs
I gave up on the mint long ago, so NO, I won't pay their prices or the game of trying to buy from them.
