Why is the D version going for like $800+ on eBay for MS70 while the CC, O, S and P (no mark) are selling for $200-300 MS70??!!

Based on my own small submission of 3 coins each for all of those mint marks, its was the hardest one to get a 70, or even a 69 in. I can only assume that was true for many others submissions across the board, so finding a 70 for the 2021 D Morgan $1 is a lot less common. less supply = higher price.

Although to be honest with you, I haven't actually seen the higher prices, as I only checked them when my submission came back (a long time ago) so it what you are saying is true, I should update my spreadsheet after checking ebay sold prices.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Just looking at the NGC population (which is probably similar to PCGS), the D has the lowest certified number of 70s. That is to say, there's only 22,000.... incredibly common, just less. There is absolutely no justifiable reason these are selling for that much!

Price has held up on these since they were delivered, huh ?

How about that Enhanced ASE-S in 2019 or 2020 ?

Theres significantly more 70s at NGC than there are at PCGS. There's less than 10k 70s for the D at PCGS, theres even a 62. The D has been the most expensive one due to poor quality for quite some time and the prices happen at auction houses as well.

Yeah, you just have to look at the population reports to see how many achieved 70. In reality there's seemingly quite a few, but far less 70s than the rest so it's the one everybody needs to pay up for to have the full set.

I bought three Ds from the mint and one came scratched. I sent the other two in and they got 69s. My buddy sent three of them in and they got 69s as well. I sold mine and bought a MS70 D in December of 2021 to complete my perfect 70 set. I bought it for $230 at that point. Within a few months they were going in the 500s. Now they sell for 900 to over a grand.
It was relatively easy getting graded 70s for the rest of them. They were just better quality than the Ds in general.

Think a lot of people submitted them to TPGs in original mint packaging without looking (big mistake one these) because it's pretty sad that some graded as low as MS-62 straight from the mint. These are definitely not worth leaving in the mint packaging because you have to see what you received. Too many flawed examples came out from Denver.

The 2019 Enhanced Reverse ASE-S snuck past me in 2019. I checked a while ago, and found out they weren't worth to me what was being sold as. There was an Enhanced Reverse ASE-W in a set that I did get.

Thankfully, I don't buy a graded coin unless it's at a good price and I don't send my coins in to be graded. I'm not selling them either. I do buy some expensive (to me, that is) coins from time to time.
