thats normal all gold dollars have that its called a lettered edge and i believe its the only modern U.S coin that has that most notable on early American coins including capped bust halves and early silver dollars and cents from the late 1700's and early To mid 1800's.
Just so hard to examine them. Lol! Maybe I can just look at them and if there is nothing on the edge, cool! Lol
Yes some of them don't have an edge lettering(error) because for some reason it wasn't struck onto the edge of the coin when made keep an eye out for them.
