This coin was listed as a heavy struck thru grease coin.
Upon seeing it, it stood out like a sore thumb. I didn’t think it was that of struck thru grease at all.
This is a weakly stuck coin.
Super uncommon on shields I’ve only ever seen 2.
The undefined design rim is a giveaway of a weakly struck coin or as many say die adjustment strike.
Characteristics visually struck thru grease aren’t there when I look it either.

Also comparing it to a graded (graded coin not mine) 2020 die adjustment strike the same weak spots where the design & and no design is showing adds up as well to how it was weakly struck.

Nice one Gorham. Anytime I see the planchet striations on the high points I think weak strike. You all get the coolest errors. Here in Denver we don't see many.

    Thanks
Maybe you’ll come across one of these Denver shields. There is quite a few Denver errors. But yea Philly mint coins do have a bit more.

I agree with you. The weak and missing rim helps confirm your diagnosis.

I'm curious . . . why no grade assigned by NGC?

That I’m unsure why maybe bc it’s a weak strike *shrug* someone else might know a better reason
