Is this a ddo or MD due to die deterioration? Reverse also has a circular imprint and not sure if counting and packing machinery. Thanks for the help everyone.
Any idea on the circular lines on reverse Sensible? Set runs all around the inner rim on coin through the lettering and then there is a set running through the torch.
The reverse has a wheel mark. Damage The obverse is something I see this a lot on Denver mint coins since 2010 - 2011. It is die deterioration, even with the areas that look like split serifs. A dime needs separation lines to be considered a Doubled Die.
The circular marks could be from a rolling machine, the crimper at the end will contact the end coin as it rolls in the paper coin roll.
I see no doubling, sorry. I think it's the angle of the lighting that makes it look that way. It's fooled be before.
It's strike doubling and it's due to the movement of the planchet in the collar and not to any bumpy die surface. This wasn't struck by dies deteriorated to the stage where they couldn't strike cleanly, the coin itself is just a tad wore out.
http://www.varietyvista.com/ variety Vista is your friend and no its not actually I don't think any 2021 doubled die coins have been discovered yet.
DDD and probably circular damage from a coin rolling device, although I haven't seen many that are so close to the rim. Still, just PMD no matter how it happened.
