yeah, I suppose Washington Crossing the Delaware is a single year design... Public Law 110-456 America The Beautiful National Parks Quarters. (8) Designs after end of program.--Upon the completion of the coin program under this subsection, the design on-- ``(A) the obverse of the quarter dollar shall revert to the same design containing an image of President Washington in effect for the quarter dollar before the institution of the 50-State quarter dollar program; and ``(B) notwithstanding the fourth sentence of subsection (d)(1), the reverse of the quarter dollar shall contain an image of General Washington crossing the Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton. Public Law 116-330 PROMINENT AMERICAN WOMEN (this also includes: "ISSUANCE OF REDESIGNED CIRCULATING COINS EMBLEMATIC OF THE UNITED STATES SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL" for 2026 DESIGNS AFTER END OF THE PROGRAM.—Beginning in 2027, any coin redesigned under this subsection shall revert to the immediately previous designs, with the exception of the quarter dollar and the half dollar, which shall bear designs in accordance with subsection (z). ‘‘(z) REDESIGN AND ISSUANCE OF QUARTER DOLLARS AND HALF DOLLARS EMBLEMATIC OF SPORTS PLAYED BY AMERICAN YOUTH.— ‘‘(1) REDESIGN OF QUARTER DOLLARS BEGINNING IN 2027.— ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—Effective beginning January 1, 2027, notwithstanding the fourth sentence of subsection (d)(1) and subsection (d)(2), the Secretary shall issue quarter dollars that have designs on the reverse selected in accordance with this subsection which are emblematic of sports played by American youth. (5) PERIOD OF ISSUANCE.— ‘‘(A) IN GENERAL.—The program established under this subsection shall continue in effect until the end of 2030. ‘(8) DESIGNS AFTER END OF PROGRAM.—Upon the completion or termination of the coin program under this subsection, the designs on the quarter dollar and half dollar shall be as follows: ‘‘(A) QUARTER DOLLAR.— ‘‘(i) OBVERSE.—The obverse of the quarter dollar shall bear a design containing a likeness of George Washington. ‘‘(ii) REVERSE.—The reverse of the quarter dollar shall be of a design selected by the Secretary after consultation with the Commission of Fine Arts and review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. ‘ ‘(B) HALF DOLLAR.— ‘‘(i) OBVERSE.—The obverse of the half dollar shall bear a design containing a likeness of John Kennedy. ‘‘(ii) REVERSE.—The reverse of the half dollar shall be of a design selected by the Secretary after consultation with the Commission of Fine Arts and review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.’’. So this goes through 2030. In 2031 they have to come up with something else. for the reverse. in 2031, they are continuing the change of the reverse of the Kennedy half dollar. Since I was going through all this, I figured the info might be interesting to someone else. I suppose they could revert to the Washington Crossing again if they have no design lined up, the legislation doesn't exclude it ever being used again but it's not indicated to do it ever again either. and this one year Washington crossing the delaware is going to be like the bicentennial really, The bicentennial was struck for 2 years. and Between P and D, were like 1.6 billion or so, around 800 million each. The mint is currently at 1.335 billion 2021s from both mints, with Tuskeegee being 464.4 M from both mints. Which puts WCD around 900 million currently.... could expect there to be still around 500 million made still before the end of the year, 1.4 billion in total. Tuskeegee isn't that rare either. 2012 Chaco Culture P + D were both 22 million minted, 2012 Acadia P was 21,606,000 and super low mintages since probably before 1960 when San Fran was striking some coins for circulation. I had no idea they were going to start messing around with the half dollars also after the semiquincentennial.......
