I assume your information is correct. I had some communication that had reference the coin as Type A. So, it is Type 1. Thanks for the information. Another thing that I didn't understand was getting an email from the Mint telling me that my VISA would be out of date when the ASE was offered. I knew it wasn't, so I went to my account and deleted the information and then I re-entered it. I have the Presidents Medals on my enrollment list as well as all of the ASE's. I thought I would circumvent the ASE's selling by buying the Congratulation Set. As you know, it was also sold out for just about $3 more. And to end this... With about 300,000 ASE's available, how did they sell out in 10 minutes? Any idea how many type "2" ASE's will be available. Any idea if I can get it on my enrollment set?
Trust me as I said in the 1st post on this thread " The Director" will surely be out this week with his explanations! Thanks for all the tweets! .
You must one of the fortunate! This is what I just saw American Eagle 2021 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin https://catalog.usmint.gov/american-eagle-2021-one-ounce-silver-proof-coin-21EA.html WEST POINT (W) American Eagle Coin Program $73.00 This product is currently unavailable. Learn More
A significant percentage was never actually available as it was already taken to the subscriptions. As for the rest this is the perfect type thing where you will see large numbers on TV being hyped as the last of it's kind, they likely had orders out for over 10k of them on their own. Same goes with dealers and then many people tried to get more on the chance it would spike etc. Once the dust settles the premium will likely be modest at best, it's no where near one of the keys and plenty of other series that ended or had a design change have little to no premium for being the last
This is why the mint is so curopt/ the people that are buying from the mint now are fools with there money for those that have enough money to spend on insane priced mint products and don't have to worry or dream good for you.
@potty dollar 1878 frankly how much and where someone spends their money is no ones business but their own. Everyone had a chance to add to the enrollment program if they wanted the ASE proof. Don’t like the mint prices? Don’t buy mint products. It’s not your place to disparage those who do.
Sorry just kind of mad how silver is so high I had plans to buy the new 2021 silver coins silver eagles, maple leafs,Britannias e.t.c i miss when you could easily buy silver for under $30 an ounce
I don't know what the Director's background is or if he has worked in the private sector, but, the Mint is a business, just like the Post Office. Both of them are under fire to make a profit or at least don't have a loss. Any business manager that doesn't make a profit or at least break ever, doesn't deserve to work with their agency. I don't know what the Post Office's directive is, but they do need to increase their sales and increase prices. I think the Director of the Mint has gotten the word to make a profit. When I see a product that the Mint is selling, if I want it, I have to pay the price they are selling it for. Of course, their prices are rising. They made a significant lost last year as the Post Office did. I would like to be the Director of the Post Office. Two things need to change. Locations of post office boxes like they do at trailer parks, apartments, and other group houseing. Quit delivering on Saturday. Increase prices on special items. Reduce the number of employees and put their salaries in a reasonable range. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have thousands of missionaries all over the world. Let them deliver the mail. They're smart and are clean looking. It could reduce the cost to deliver the mail. (That's just a "Mormon" joke.) Anyway, the Mint has the same problems.
They need to be more efficient and stop giving massive discounts to companies like Amazon they pay pennies on the dollar. They could also make a ton of money if they lowered the cost of their insurance, it's so expensive and they lose so little things that most people just refuse to pay it. They're just starting to operate like the major world mints have been for years.
We have to understand that the Mint has operated with poor money management for years and then when they try to update their business like regular businesses and Mints, we cry "FOUL". We should be grateful that we can by gold, silver and other metals for reasonable rates. The one problem they are having is that most of the employees of the Mint as well as their customers are angry because the Mint is raising their prices to market value. I won't be surprised when the Mint starts replacing some employees and hiring people that know what they are doing. The employees of the Mint want to be paid at par of other businesses, but they don't won't to work like regular businesses to earn that kind of money. I worked for the State of North Carolina. We had the same problem with State Employees. They wanted to be paid like employees of non-state business and get other benefits, but when adjustments are made when they don't get an annual increase of 7-10% raise every year, they cry. Before I retired, the State started an employee evaluation with strict standards for raises. When state employees didn't get their standard raise, the cried to the legislature, which did no good. There just wasn't the money in the budget anymore. Both the Mint and the Post Office employees play this same game and when they lost 90B last year, they can't understand why they didn't get a raise.
Realistically no matter what the mint does people are going to complain. They're always in a no win situation.

Out of curiosity, first did they warn you? Have you contacted them? What was it that was in your enrollment order? Don't answer unless you want to or if you think it will help us so we won't fall into the same pit. Best of luck.
