Yes, you still get the S Proof nickel. The added W mint marked nickel is the bait. Collectors who want complete sets will buy them just so there's no empty spaces in their albums. :)

I think that reverse Proof coins are usually ugly, but that is a personal opinion.

I think the new Jefferson nickel in RP is particularly bad.

And they can continue striking them through Dec 31st. About the only way I see them being a "rarity" is if the virus keeps them shut down until very late December.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with that opinion.

  7. They could make them in 2021 like they made the 1965 special mint sets in 1966.

Only if they get new legislation allowing them to do so. In the case of the 1965 coins that authority was built into the Coinage act of 1965. Likewise when legislation allowed then to freeze the 1974 dates in 1975, and to strike the Bicentennials starting a year early. without such exemption legislation the law requires that coins bear the calendar year in which they are struck.

They are sold out of them now. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for them to make more.

However, it has the additional advantage of being THE CORRECT ONE.

Opened mine, nice proof set with an ugly nickel in a seed packet. Maybe if I plant it I'll get a nickel bush.

Not super impressed with the quarters this year. Sure, the bats are cool but the set in general... meh
