2020 d Penny with "double chin' error on Obverse

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by Brandon Purdum, May 21, 2024.

  1. Hey everyone, I have a 2020 d Penny with something unusual on the bottom of Lincoln's chin. Is this an error, and if so, does it constitute a die chip, break, or something else?

I would guess a possible die chip. It makes Abe look like some of us older members.

Looks like a contact mark made by the edge of another coin that had no reeding…so, not from a quarter or a dime but from another cent or nickel perhaps…
    imo…Spark

Could be, but a much closer picture needs to taken to say for sure. A hit or die a die chip.

I agree. Also, it's an insignificant anomaly. Nothing more, no added value. "Stick with a Loupe and don't feel like poop".
