I just wanted to share this one because it is interesting to me. I would think someone or something is the cause of this PMD but under the loupe it looks to be quite delicate handy work. I mean the detail around the eyes is still there. I'm a little curious of the various scenarios that could cause this outside of the mint.
oh its the same design, however the bats have no nostrils or hairs on their faces. its like someone filed down the high points
I think I need to try the pictures of my coin again. The one posted by mountain man isn't mine. Either everyone is playing a prank on me, the pictures I posted at the top of the thread aren't showing or I have lost my last marble....the one Mountain Man posted is the normal one and not the one I am talking about. I somehow listed mine as thumb nails instead of full photos so Im gonna try this again....these little bats look like Muppet Babies or I have been painting too long.
The noses and all the facial features are missing, also the eyes look tooled.By the scratches along Washington's bust and on the reverse in question the coin was ground down/damaged but still 25 cents.
The surfaces have been ground/sanded on both sides with a fine grit abrasive. Many of the scratches are visible. Not an error
Awesome. Yeah it didn't look like a true error. I was worried because the first few people were saying it looked normal to them. Lol I thought I was losing it. Anywho, people are getting craftier and craftier.
Lol people who do this never cease to amaze me. I coin roll hunt a lot and am always finding crazy attempts at errors. I thought that this one was particularly crafty because the detail around the eyes were still there. Just interesting.
Indeed not an error. maybe an error in the brain of someone who thought they could create one??? lol I may sharing all the crazy attempts I find while hunting. People are a whoot.
