Ordered three, got three, got no 'W' cents. Cents are listed on the invoice along with the appropriate number of envelopes, but not to be found. The box was properly sealed and completely undamaged so somebody forgot to put them in the box. Now I have to file a Certificate of non-receipt and wait 4-6 weeks for an answer. Anybody else have this problem?
bwahahahahaha. I mean, sorry for your loss. But jeeze, this whole "W" cent thing has been a mess from the beginning. I am planning on buying mine from the mint directly at the Baltimore coin show this weekend.
Were you orders 'subscription'? I have a standing subscription for three of these and I was just wondering if that is where the error might lie. When I was talking to the customer sevice rep this afternoon she asked me that. Just wondering if this may be a glitch with folks like me. Oh, and I gotta say the quality of the sets is rather astounding. Clean coins. Nary a nick or a scratch......
I don't have subscription, I just order with other stuff sometimes, depends on whats new. I got 2 sets, I already self inflicted a small scratch on one of the w cents, but the rest of the coins im impressed, a few other with light scratches, and a lot ms69 and 70s nice strikes, looks like they really tried to be careful.
Yes, auto ship. I agree the coins are flawless under 10X scope. Even the W cents would go 70 if sent in to be graded.
Strike 3 on the uncirculated w cent. Sets are nice though. The cents do have amazing luster that make them so hard to photograph...yep thats a spot on the reverse shield.
Since these are special issues, would it have been so difficult to issue them in copper? I guess the zinc lobby needs to let everyone know who’s running the show.
It never occurred to the 'fellows'.........They're so out of touch with us (collectors) you know..........
Well, there goes my theory Phil........ I was looking for excuses for the mis-hap but they are actually stupid....... And I do know, errors occur, but it shouldn't have happened...........
I bought all 3 sets and didn't get a "W" cent in ANY of them! Ok so the truth is I bought two proof sets at the Mint stand at Baltimore Whitman, ordered my silver proof set and just ordered my uncirculated set. Waiting on the last "W" cent from the mint. The 3 sets that I didn't get a "W" coin with were sold to me by @dwhiz . Shout out to this guy for the great deal and I knew they were not coming with the extra cents. Fast shipping and exactly as he stated. Trustworthy coin talk seller here!
They kind of led me to believe that the subscription sets are handled differently than the direct order sets, which had me thinkin' that maybe mine were packaged 'early' on minus the 'W' cents.
