Oh Okay.. I thought because it was so shiny and didn't have a rim it was silver on the top.. lol.. ty
It doesn't have 'silver on the top' That's the Zinc core you see, after the coin has been scraped and damaged.
Many things happen to coins when they leave the mint into circulation...this coin is not new nor extra shiny..the coin, as everyone has said, is damaged /altered...not a cent on a silver planchet....
@Candice Wise take a new shiny penny (actually a cent) and rub it against some very fine sandpaper for awhile and you can make as many of these as you want.
