Found this in a box of new 2019 cents from the bank. I am not sure if this is just PMD or some kind of die break at the rim... 2019crop2.jpg 2019crop3.jpg 2019crop3.jpg 2019crop6.jpg 2019crop7.jpg 2019crop8.jpg 2019fullobv.jpg 2019fullrev.jpg

    Hi:)
Imho, looks like it took a hit and is damaged. Someday someone will be calling it a lamination error.

I hate to be the contrarian but why is there no disturbance to the plating if it took a hit and is PMD? Looks like a die break depression in some stage or something got in the way of a proper strike, such as a chip of another cent. The upraised portion also is completely plated. The first photo shows some cupping in the area. The second and third photos show a secondary rim, like something went wrong during this strike.

To me it looks like the rim took a hit and the planchet split. Definitely not a Cud.
