Okay, looks like I'm going to jump off CT for the night. Here's our current wrap up:
42 of 52 participants have posted their gift photos. I'm tracking one package as coming late, due to Santa's sleigh needing to make a pit stop from across the globe. Several folks have already let me know they'll be posting their photos tomorrow, as they're spending time with their families (totally understandable!)

If you haven't received your SS gift and we have not already talked, please contact me ASAP!!

Also, correction to when the first gift was opened. That was actually @furryfrog02 in November! I had to go back and find his post when I was checking off who posted photos so far.

Merry Christmas, thank you everyone for making the end of this year so joyful!

Got some cool ancient silver from my SS! Thank you for these fun pieces. I've got a lot of research ahead of me - although one is indicated to be of Indo Greek origin and the other is a piece from Afghanistan, I have a lot to learn to place either in context. 20191226_123357.jpg 20191226_123406.jpg

It was difficult to wait until Christmas morning, but I finally made it happen for the first time since participating in the Secret Santa event. But here you go, I'm more than happy with the diversity of coins received. I was most surprised with the proof 55 Lincoln and the single grain of gold is a pleasant surprise!

Interesting, I open mine and exclaim "Whoa, a W mint mark quarter!" Replies..."Uh a quarter?" "What's a W mint mark quarter?" "How is that different from any other quarter...here, I have one..."...sigh...

    And a 1945 D war nic!!!

Thanks SS for the cool coins for Christmas! I’ve never owned a 2.5 Gulden before! Nice big silver coin! 22161EA1-CC21-4C0E-A153-93AFAB7C5E2B.jpeg

    Thank you to my santa!

We just got back last night from staying with my dad for a few days. The gift was a nice surprise under the tree:

A beautiful wrapping job - the first year I participated I forgot to wrap mine (oops!) but have taken the cue since then to do this. It's always nice to see that extra care that went into the packaging.

And the gift - a wonderful set of US proof sets, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, and 1982! While I did have the quarter proofs from these sets in my Danco, I didn't have any of these sets before. The quality on these proof sets is very nice.

And here's my favorite set of the bunch, my birth year set (not sure if my santa intended this but if so nice going!). I have a few birth year sets from some of my favorite world countries, but I had never picked up a US set. I am happily adding this one to my birth year sets:

After a HUGE delay by the various carriers from around the world, I got my Secret Santa gift. My SS sent 2 separate gifts, but one shows as lost in the mail. I decided to wait until at least one eventually showed up, so as to not ask for a third (yikes) - and it finally arrived lol.

Anyway, my SS knew that I was into World coins and got me a wide variety of coins to look into, since my collection is very finicky. Looks like I have some research to do :)

    Thanks secret Santa!
