I seen this set for sale today and I didn't realize that they minted a reverse proof set this year. So I did some research and found out it was a 2 coin half dollar combo for the 50th Apollo 11 anniversary and was a limited edition minting only 100,000 but I found very little information about the metal used to make them. Does anyone know if they are clad or silver? They are selling for $200 for the pair. Thoughts?

Yes they do. I really like the reverse proof look, that's why I picked up the 2018 limited edition reverse proof set but the 2018's are silver and I'm leaning towards the 2019's being clad. Also I don't know if the Apollo coins will remain a hot item or just be a fad.

I have the Apollo 11 1oz .999 silver proof coin with the curved design. It's a very cool coin, I just don't want to get caught up in a fad and invest that kind of money on clad coins if the bottom falls out of the market.

Out of that set you are paying for the Kennedy half dollar and the special holders. The commemorative half barely pulls a premium even at PF70. The Kennedy should hold it's value. They are selling in the $120 range for RP70s. The commemorative is selling for less than $40. $160 is probably about max retail for that set. I wouldn't pay up for the holders, but, others may find the holders cool and will pay the premium.
