yes, that button was sluggish on several pages especially the 5oz - I had to click it a couple times.

 

I’m always worried when that happens that it will end up placing multiple orders.

 

Are you talking about "Add to Bag" (on each product page) rather than "Place Order" (on the final checkout screen)?

 

oh yeah ... the Add to Bag was sluggish for me especially on the 5oz page.
Place Order was fine for me.

I got a $5 gold proof at the opening bell. Site was slow but functioning.

 

Response was slow, but I was able to order one 5oz, one uncirc $5, and 5 of the half dollar sets.

Order has been confirmed.

Just went to the Mint site. As of 8:40 PM Eastern everything is still available except the 5 oz pucks are on back order. So much for "instant sell outs".

As for the 5 oz pucks, I seriously doubt they struck 100K of them before the order date. They probably made 10k to 20K and the rest they will strike to order. They sold out what was on hand and now further orders are on back order until they can make them.

I just got my shipping notification.

 

EBay sellers seem focused a lot on the $5 gold proof with the usual outrageous prices. Appears the majority are being offered raw.

Several lots offer five of the 5 Oz silvers for up to $2,995.

 

Good for me, means I may be able to buy what I want later below issue price.

HSN, as usual, will not be among the money losers. If it’s sold out, Mezack screams it. If not, he doesn’t mention Mint sales. Doesn’t make much difference since his buyers don’t appear aware enough to check the Mint site.

 

What does a poorly selling product have to do with HSN?

 

I bought the 5oz coin on Backorder.
(Have always despised people calling them "pucks" - it's a coin.)

Everything is way overpriced. But that curved five ouncer is gonna look sweet. Both sides of the design seem crowded at smaller sizes, but maybe better looking in hand.
