Happy birthday, dear @jamesicus, and congratulations on achieving your goals! I'd post one of your ex-coins but it's on another computer and I have some connectivity problems again.
Thank you @PlanoSteve - I actually have a web page devoted to coinage of the Stuart Kings during the English Civil War and Restoration which contains much more information: https://jp29.org/000stuartkings.htm
Thank you TIF - I hope you eventually post a pic of that coin - I enjoy seeing my ex coins at their new homes.
Happy 90th James!!! I've had a look at the revamped web pages and they are excellent. In particular the organization seems simpler and more accessible... well done! Here's one of my favourite ex jamesicus coins, plus a new one you will like (still haven't taken my own photo of the latter): Hugh Cloke says this one will get a new catalogue number, 1.01.002A (Genius with draped loins). @Caesar_Augustus alerted me to its presence in a group lot, which went otherwise unnoticed so I got it for a song.
Great stuff SA. As you know, I was always fond of that Constantius “long neck” and it has a good home now. That LON marked follis is fantastic - and very rare. Congratulations!
Happy birthday, @jamesicus ! I like your web pages and wonder if you have figured out a way to make sure they endure forever. I have web pages and wonder how to assure they will remain available somewhere. I wonder if the ANS could be induced to host pages?
@jamesicus Happy Birthday, sir. May you have a wonderful day. Fantastic coins and webpages. It is my hope that I have as many years to enjoy my family and coins as you. Nick
Happy Birthday This coin was minted 500 years before your birthday. I don't have any as recent as 1929. Congratulations on accomplishing your goals. I can not bring myself to do the "Box of 20" as you have. I hope your BD was a good one. Give us a hint for next years goals. The date is in Roman numerals in the left image. Starts at 5:30. M CCCC XXIX
Thank you Warren. No I haven’t figured that out. As it stands now I continuously back up all of my pages on thumb drives and provide copies to two of my grand kids who are accomplished web page writers and are familiar with my coding practices. That is a primitive way of doing things though and I think they will eventually convert the pages via a canned code generation application for they are not as devoted to the semantic web and web content accessibility as I am. That is probably a good thing in any event for that is all that is required when writing pages that will only be rendered in graphical browsers.
Also, in honor of @jamesicus’ birthday, I’ll set up a few goals for myself for the rest of this year and into 2020. 1) purchase the Hristov and Jekov books on Provincial coinage of Nikopolis and Markianopolis; 2) learn Bulgarian to read said books; 3) complete at least one mintmark set of a Probus Bust/obv/rev combination; 4) work on my project for my Septimius collection.
