Pretty cool. Sorry you got picked on here. Lots of folks have a hard time getting the hang of posting images here. Looks like you got it.
I wonder if the other grading services have graded any 2019s as satin. I thought 2008 was the last year for these. Looks like I'm behind on understanding all that's going on with moderns.

  4. I wonder if the graded 69 cents were actually from the mint sets? hard to believe a 69 can be found in circulation and mine were 68.

Thanks for posting, my apologies, I am going to look for more information on this satin finish, also curious why they did not give a mint error attribution on that one.

The satin finish comes from the dies, not the planchets, as the strike imparts the finish on the surfaces of the coin.

  7. i was hoping they would but when i got the coins back, they said it was a gas bubble on the remarks and i think pcgs does label "gas bubble" on their holder. .

2010 was the last year for Satin Finish Mint Sets.

The satin finish was used from 2005-2010.

It’s funny because with all of the sets, it’s hard to keep track of all of the special finish coins.

So far, ANACS is the only TPG to certify coins as having a Satin Finish this year. I just got a Mint Set today for Father’s Day and at first blush, the coins didn’t look like they had a special finish, but I will give them a good look tomorrow.

You know that in my podcast I do a news segment and so I think I tend to keep up on this stuff pretty well.

To my knowledge, there’s been no mention of any intention to do so, or any article written anywhere that I have seen.

You will occasionally get surprised, but I don’t believe this to be the case currently.

  14. I may try to contact the us mint and share my findings with them . Maybe they could give me an answer to the satin finish coin released into circulation . That may be a good place to start
