I didn't know the mint made satin finish cents in 2019.

  4. I would put it in a 2 by 2 clear plastic holder

  5. go to anacs ,verify and here are the numbers, have a beautiful day, happy coin hunting.

Sorry to give ya a hard time Kevin, they are satin finish until the dies get some wear or wear on coin from circulation. hence early die strikes, or unpolished dies.

I haven't seen my Mint Set yet this year, so I don't have any way to help verify, but clearly ANACS has graded a few Denver Mint coins as Satin Finish. Why? That's better question.

Sorry, auto, this isn't true. Satin finish is not an early die state, it comes from a different way of treating the dies. In fact, most true early die strikes typically exhibit prooflike surfaces.

This is why the subject got such a strong reaction. The Mint has not announced any plans to make Satin Finish coins this year, and no other TPG has certified any Satin Finish coins so far.

Mike there is 2 or 3 storys to this satin finish, that's why I wanted to see the holder, true some have a burnished appearance on purpose, I have 2 from circulation, they do appear that the dies were treated with sand blasting fine particles under my microscope. now its at a point of curiosity whats going on here, Ive been reading up. the labels have said from mint set but not mention satin. and Ive read several articles last night. one is saying this is normal for 2019 until the dies are worn. and we still don't know if that's on the label.

They already have a satin finish, that's what I was saying. so you don't have any to verify they exhibit a prooflike finish, some are getting that attribution however. Worn dies is what one website said. Im still trying to understand, whats up,.2019 is not the same as the prior years, to my best research thus far. I mean it does not appear they are polishing the dies. for business strikes.

Ill say one more thing, they are all satin finish, and MS 68 is low if you've seen the quality of the coins in the 2019 mint sets this year. IMG_20190615_181920879.jpg

Now Here is a 2019 D MS 70 pl under 800X from explore and discover. I don't normally take these coins out. but you can see the differences, the explore and discover set has hands down the finest MS coins of this year. except perhaps the rocket ship, they sold out due to fantastic quality from what others said. and those specks are on the lens of the microscope, this coin is perfect.

This isn't a satin or PL well maybe just a Semi Pl. What Mike is trying to say is that this is merely a die state. A good example of satin is from 05' till 09'

I understand, I am not necessarily saying its satin finish, its certainly just normal strike for 2019 coins, I was trying to understand why it would be labeled as satin finish. when nobody else has heard of that for 2019. and dude wont post picture, says he don't know how, that's fine, but when it does not add up, im trying to figure out what happened. I have looked at burnished and unburnished also. I certainly cant see why they would use special treatment for circulated coins and is that what anacs is calling satin. BTW the 2019 D is PL. and is a perfect example.
