    I think they call that MD or Machine doubling .

    Yes, it is a form of MD. It is called incused die doubling.

    I learned from these guys (the hard-ish way I might add) that Incused Doubling is quite common on these types of quarters. I thought I had stumbled into something big with a 2020 W privy stamped quarter with doubling on the legend, but I was quickly smacked back down to just having a special privy mark quarter with some incused doubling lol
