2019 D Extreme Defective Copper Plating Shield Cent

    So the pre strike damage on the 2019 d you can consider the coin also to be then incomplete plating due to that damage.
    So itd be correct to say as well incomplete plated Planchet then too?

    Use of the term "incomplete plating" is generally confined to cases of incomplete copper deposition. Your cent would be better described as a case of pre-strike, post-plating planchet damage.

    Mike, do you think it was scraped off because of a buildup from electrolysis problem, or trying to make an oddity for themself or a "Only God Knows" coin. Hope all is OK, seldom see you here ,Best wishes , Jim

    I've seen many examples of cents struck on planchets that have had their plating scraped off to a greater or lesser degree. I've see no evidence that the damage is facilitated by unevenly or improperly deposited copper plating. I don't know what equipment might be responsible for the damage, but I presume it's all accidental.
