Sorry for the looooooong delay. The last week and a half has felt like a blur. It finally ended with New Years Eve while I was driving Uber and Lyft, I put in a 13 hour day/night. It was well worth it. Now I can get back to the fun stuff.

Without further delay, my Secret Santa gift.
Sorry for the looooooong delay. The last week and a half has felt like a blur. It finally ended with New Years Eve while I was driving Uber and Lyft, I put in a 13 hour day/night. It was well worth it. Now I can get back to the fun stuff. :) Without further delay, my Secret Santa gift. I must admit, this was the 1st gift I opened on Christmas morning, I couldn't bear the excitement as I knew it would be my only coin related gift. As I tore into the nicely wrapped package, (which shamefully, I forgot to photograph :() I came across this.... I knew right away it was Canadian, the French writing below To and From was a dead giveaway... ;) With my interest peaked, I opened the box up to find a beautiful red felt box with a silver foil border. And in that rested a black leather pouch with a snap clasp and a Royal Canadian Seal. Inside the black pouch I came across a certificate that explained that the set of coins within was from 1973. Which happens to mark the 100th anniversary of the Province of Prince Edward Island into the Canadian Federation as well as the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I always enjoy a history lesson. :) The certificate appears pink because of the red felt lining inside the black pouch. And finally laying under the certificate and nestled in a red velvet holder was a set of 7 coins. The set consists of (2) Dollar coins, a 50 Cent coin, 25 Cent coin, 10 Cent coin, a 5 Cent coin and a 1 Cent coin. The larger Dollar coin which is a Silver Dollar along with the 25 cent coin commemorate the RCMP centennial and the Nickel Dollar coin commemorates the centennial of the Province of Prince Edward Island. The rest of the coins bear the same design elements as the circulating coinage. They all look like Proof coins, but are not considered proof. Overall this is a lovely set. Thank you very much Secret Santa, I will keep this with my collection alongside the last two years of Secret Santa gifts I have received here on CT. :D
