Just found this. Looks like Lincoln's nose is doubled, maybe the date and cent on the back. Do you thing it's more than mechanical doubling?
It might be just mechanical doubling, as there are several doubled areas on the coin, including Lincoln's portrait.
Well, I'm hoping it's not MD. The way the 2 is separated on the date makes me hopeful, as well as how distinct the nose is. Let's see who else weighs in.
Specially the "2" makes me think you might have doubling there, the separation is pretty obvious. Can't tell from the pics but I think you can tell us with the coin in hand, that doubled 2 is it flat or round? And the reverse looks MD to me...
that's really distinct on the 201(8) and the listed DD for 2018 are really minor by comparison but I'm not DD expert ... @Rick Stachowski The forehead and nose is usually machine doubling. otherwise the devices just behind it would be doubled/messed up too if the master die/working die slipped or whatever.
Well, I thought the definition of the two images and the separation werethe most important things. The "2" doesn't seem to be raised and neither does anything else. So I guessing MD, unfortunately. Thanks for the eyes. Lou
