I found a 2018 D Minnesota quarter and I'm wondering what kind of doubling it's showing it looks like there are 2 different types but I'm not sure what kind they are. I know it's not listed but one can always hope it's a first yeah right. I'm hoping with help from everyone I can find out what the doubling is.

Looks like MD to me, but lets have confirmation from the big guns. I've got a couple of rolls of uncirculated MN quarters which I will open some day to check for the extra tree. I'd like to know about all the possibilities before I crack them.

In the Minnesota it looks to me like there's notching that's why I was thinking something other than MD on the date and EPU I was thinking most likely MD.

Are you confusing the MN SQ with the ATB that the OP has posted? I know the SQ has doubling in the trees.

You're right, Chris. I am saving the SQs to examine some day. Uff da. I also poured salt on my oatmeal this morning. Not clicking very early.

Now that makes sense because the doubling seems to kind of have skid marks. What I don't understand is why the whole side of the coin wouldn't be like that if the doubling was because of the planchette moving.
