Could someone please confirm that this is nothing as in no doubling so I am able to stop looking at it?
well wait, umm you know what ... I think well, maybe if, 'ya know .. it could just be wait .. I think I see oh wait, it's nothing. Just junk doubling.
Always keep this in mind #1 - Zinc cents are horrible, and more often than not are just flat-out horrible. #2 - notice how all the irregularities are on the outside of the metal flow all around. That show's plating stretch in relation to the die deteriorating. #3 any time there's any doubt, refer to #1. At least that how I think about it.
yours is the seventh post. 7 is somewhat short of 82. but if you are talking about Alurid's #2 post yes I did see it. I thought my #2 insight might help you recognize the DieDeterioration on Zincolns
well that makes sense too now that you mention it. I do look at post "1982" cents. They're still Doubled Dies out there which are interesting. Though the single squeeze stuff has me a bit perplexed but I'm getting better at recognizing it. I just keep following Rick S's posts and reading about them. The double pressing issue during a single squeeze makes sense ... so then one is able to discern stuff. The expanded/enlarged letters and stuff though is hard to care about. But the zincolns are just a bad design coin in one way, but a perfectly designed coin in another way. Made for commerce they are perfectly fine. Made for minutely detailed collectors, not so much.
My old ladies always says i dont say what i really mean, appologies.kind of funny when you read it the way i wrote it i kind of sound like a cocky prick.
