@Richard gladfelter Here are 2 great websites to learn http://www.error-ref.com And http://doubleddie.com
Thank you https://www.cointalk.com/members/paddyman98.44615/it's been so much fun and I've learned sooo much here.i almost feel like your my only friends.but back to COINS!
I've been doing this for 54 YEARS and I've never found a "Wow!" error. These things are called rarities for a reason - they're rare. You can't possibly expect to hit "paydirt" in a few weeks.
For YOU what would that be. If you were coin roll hunting Lincoln cents what errors would you want to find?
I've looked through 100s of thousands of coins in the past 59 years. The best errors I've ever found were about five 1983 quarters about 33% off center that were in the discard box at the bank I had once worked in. They just gave them to me. For me a really WOW error would be a really strong doubled die like the 1955 or a true off metal coin. I once knew a dealer who claimed he had once had an Indian cent on a $2.50 gold planchet. That would be WOW. I'm more likely to find Elvis on that space ship.
