    I do like proof coins. Nice set, would be nicer if it hadsomething other then the effigy mounds quarter, which I think is the ugliest design of them all. But I have one too, just because I had too! LOL

    I totally agree. Jessie James first train robbery was in Adair, Iowa. That's more exciting than the Effigy Mounds Quarter.

    The Eunice Shiver 1996 Special Olympics coin gives it a run for its "money", so to speak.

    The Effigy Mounds quarter ... I remember that one. When I first saw it, I thought that the coin was damaged.

    Hawaii volcanoes and Effigy Mounds are my two least favorite. another one I dislike for a different reason is Frederick Douglass. I loved his story as a child and that design, especially after circulation, does NOT represent Douglass well. More of a Bob Ross kinda deal, which is shameful.

    Honestly, Salt River Bay, Lowell, Tallgrass are up at the best, imo.

    San Antonio Missions and Lowell are my favorites. Tallgrass is right up there too. Although I just got some rolls from the mint....I haven't taken a close look at the Tuskeegee Airman quarter yet.

    But there isn't a Jesse James first train robbery National Park. (There is an historical site, but I don't know if it is a National Site, or just a State Historical Site. Checked, it isn't on the list of National Historic Sites.)

    For me my favorites are Ozark riverway, American Memorial Park, and Wier Farm.

    You are correct, there is nothing but I found it more exciting than the Mounds on the Quarter. It should be a historical area. It history rich.

    Problem is it couldn't be on the ATB quarter because it had to be either a national park or National Historic Site.

    Just an idea here as far as Effigy Mounds. Iowa is a little thin in the "National Parks and/or National Sites" plan.

    Yeah, National Parks Effigy Mounds, National Historic Sites, Herbert Hoover Birthplace. Guess it had to be one or the other.
